The most awaited movie of Nagarjuna-Srinivas Reddy "Damarukam" is released on 23rd Nov with very good openings & very good positive talk.

Story :-  

Andhakasura is a dreaded demon who wanders in an invisible form even after the expulsion of the entire demon tribe. He comes to know that when the planets in the sky forms a particular shape (Panchagraha Kootami), he takes shape and gets the power of ‘Panchabhoothalu’ and becomes super powerful. Also, he should marry a girl Maheswari (Anushka) born at that moment to become the emperor of the entire Universe. Only Lord Shiva can eliminate this deadly demon. And the remaining movie revolves around how Lord Shiva executes the elimination of Andhakasura through the hero, Mallikarjuna (Nagarjuna)..

Performances :-

Nag :- For the first time in his career, Nagarjuna is doing a socio-fantasy entertainer. Unlike all hero-centric movies in Tollywood, Damarukam is supported by an excellent story and Nagarjuna had sinked himself in to the Mallikarjuna character with Godavari slang. Even at 53, his dedication is clearly visible in the six pack sequence and in the Aghora scene.

Anushka :- Anushka looked prettier on screen as ever but has nothing much in the movie to do. Her styling is good and easily got into the skin of character. It would be much better if the director did use her talent.

Ravi Shankar :- Ravi Shankar is simply excellent as Andhakasura. His get up, voice modulation, body language and every thing are almost perfect. It is no exaggeration in saying that he overshadowed Nag in several scenes.

Praksh Raj has also done a good job.

There is some healthy comedy in the movie involving Brahmanandham, Raghu Babu, MS Narayana and others.

All the remaining performances are okay.

Technical Description :-

-> Being new to direct a big hero like Nagarjuna who is in search of a commercial hit is truely a tough task. And before this project, Srinivas Reddy has nothing to his credit as a director except this well written script. After watching the movie, one can say that he has done good justice to his role in the movie and he will bag some good appreciations.

-> Graphics is certainly core component of any socio fantasy movie. Enough care is taken to get things right in aspect too. There were several moments in the film like the intro scene, Nandi scene and the climax scene have too good graphics.

-> Devi Sri Prasad is one of the major assets of the movie. All the songs were chartbusters already and are equally good when seen on screen. His Background Music has taken the movie to next level. It is sure that Devi has made his 50th film memorable.

-> Camera work by Chota K Naidu is good. Being a senior lensman, he has done the perfect job for this socio-fantasy movie. The grading and picture quality is excellent and colorful especially songs.

-> Nag's rocking performance.

-> 1 Hour 10 Mins amazing Graphics is the main highlight of the movie.

-> Climax 30 Minutes is amazing and the audience will stick to the edges of their seats including the Nandhi scene.

-> Ravi Shankar in Andhakasura(Villian) role.

-> First Half's comedy and romantic track between Nag and Anushka.

-> Chartbuster super hit songs & Stunning BGM by DSP.

-> Beautiful picturization of songs.
-> Superb comedy in the first half.

-Minus Points :-

-> Few predictable scenes in the movie.

-> Some scenes between Prakash Raj and Brahmanandham. 
-> Predictable story came in many movies.

Final Verdict :-

Damarukam is a clean super hit which can also become a block buster with many ingredients to attract audience attention and towards the end of his career, Nag had bagged the much required success. The movie is well made and is expected to do good commercially. Apart from the huge money involved and unseason, we have to see what would be the range of the movie.
